This morning, on October 31, Mr. Luu Ho Quang, Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of MERA Global Investment Joint Stock Company – the project development partner of MP-HOLDINGS, led a delegation for official engagements in the province. Mr.Ha Trong Hai, Vice Chairman of Lai Chau Provincial People’s Committee, extended a welcoming reception to the delegation.
Vice Chairman Ha Trong Hai conducted discussions and work sessions with the representatives from MERA Global Investment Joint Stock Company. The meeting also included the participation of foreign experts, such as Mr. WONG JEH SHYAN, Chairman of MOC Capital Singapore Investment Fund, consultants and senior advisors in design, as well as members of the Delegation.
Representatives on Lai Chau Province’s side, including those from Foreign Affairs, Planning and Investment, Construction, Agriculture and Rural Development, and the Provincial People’s Committee Office, were present during the meeting.
During the meeting, he provided an overview of the ongoing project in the province. Currently, the company is engaged in surveying two projects in Lai Chau province. The first project is the Hot Mineral City project in Tan Uyen district, which is in the survey phase. Tan Uyen district is recognized for its tourism potential, boasting impressive natural landscapes, unique local ethnic cultures, and opportunities for agricultural and forestry development, particularly the potential for hot mineral springs. The second project that MERA International Investment Company aims to survey is in Sin Ho district, with the goal of developing resort tourism. Sin Ho features a cool climate akin to Sa Pa but distinguishes itself with a rich source of medicinal herbs, and there is a vision to establish a medicinal city in Sin Ho district. Mr. Luu Ho Quang expressed his hope for collaboration and support from provincial leaders and department heads to facilitate the prompt commencement of construction for the Hot Mineral City project in Tan Uyen district, in accordance with Vietnamese regulations and procedures.
Mr. WONG JEH SHYAN shared his deep impression of the untouched natural beauty observed at various survey points in Lai Chau, emphasizing the uniqueness and value of these points in the investment survey process. Additionally, he expressed his desire to be a leading investor in establishing a Hot Mineral City, coupled with the creation of a tea museum, bird park, flower market, food street, and high-tech farm—a comprehensive model that is compact yet robust. The ultimate goal is to transform Lai Chau into an appealing destination, drawing in diverse groups of tourists.
During the meeting, Mr. Ha Trong Hai expressed gratitude to the Delegation Group for their visit to assess the project in Lai Chau province. In acknowledging the presented ideas, he stressed that implementing and researching projects in the province would pave the way for open spaces and developmental prospects for Lai Chau in the near future.
Highlighting the province’s potential and strengths, he pointed out that Lai Chau possesses 6 out of the 10 highest mountains in Vietnam, valuable medicinal herbs such as Lai Chau Ginseng and Dong Quy, rich minerals including gold, silver, lead, zinc, and notably rare earth, with ownership of the second-largest rare earth mine in Asia. Additionally, he mentioned the undergoing procedures to upgrade Ma Lu Thang National Border Gate to an International Border Gate and the presence of 20 ethnic groups with diverse cultural identities.
The Vice Chairman commended the company’s innovative development proposals for projects in Lai Chau province, expressing keen interest in the two researched projects. He affirmed that Tan Uyen district, situated on the province’s economic axis and nestled at the foot of the Hoang Lien range near Fansipan peak, boasts beautiful natural landscapes, delicious specialty products, and numerous hot mineral spots. Supporting the idea of investing in the Hot Mineral City in Tan Uyen district, he emphasized the potential to leverage and showcase the district’s advantages as a driving force for the province. Regarding Sin Ho district, identified as having tourism development potential with the second-largest area and the largest population in the province, Vice Chairman Ha Trong Hai noted its location in the Da River ecological economic zone. He highlighted the potential for developing large timber and tropical fruit trees in the Sin Ho lowland, coupled with the highlands being suitable for resort tourism associated with medicinal herbs and cultural identity.
Vice Chairman Ha Trong Hai affirmed the Provincial People’s Committee’s support for the investor’s development ideas. Simultaneously, he pledged that Lai Chau province would collaborate on all aspects, from administrative procedures and document preparation to planning and land work, to create the most favorable conditions for investment.
